Bail and Bondsman

An individual charged with an offense can be temporarily released from custody if the court sets bail. Bail is the amount of money used as collateral to ensure that the defendant shows up at all his court hearings. Failure to meet the bail’s conditions or appear at one of his court hearings will mean that the posted bail is forfeited. If only a partial amount of the bail is paid, then the defendant is then held liable by the court for the rest of the bail amount.

If an individual is unable to post bail because of financial difficulties, he or she can secure the services of a bondsman. The bondsman will be the one who will arrange the paperwork and pay the bail amount. He will also held responsible for paying the rest of the bail amount to the court should the defendant fail to appear at his trial. In exchange for his services, a bondsman will charge a non-refundable fee, normally 10% of the bail amount.

Terrible customer service. The company barely cares at all about their customers and don't understand they're at work. I call them and they act like it's an inconvenience that I called them. I'm very disappointed and immensely dislike every time I have to call them.
