There have been some break-ins over the past several days in the Town of Winnsboro. The individual or individuals appear to be looking for money. However, they may damage property while searching for money or small items of value.

Please be sure to secure your homes, businesses and vehicles. Please be mindful of keeping items of value locked up and out of visibility -especially in vehicles. As the holiday season continues, please be observant to prevent opportunity for a theft to occur. We are working to investigate each call received and our goal is to arrest any parties involved as soon as possible.

If you have a break-in or theft, please contact the Sheriff's Office at, in addition to the Town Police, so that we can document any items or money stolen to assist in arresting those individuals that may be involved and assist in locating any items which may have been stolen.

Today and tomorrow while driving on Highway 15 (US425) throughout Franklin Parish, please exercise extreme caution due to the extra traffic as a result of the Annual "Found on 15."

If you are participating please be sure to park off the road and use caution when arriving to and leaving from each location.

All drivers on the roadway should be extra observant as to try to avoid an accident.
